What is homelessness?
Homelessness has many forms and affects many Australians, from
single young people to families with children. There can be many
causes for homelessness - poverty, family breakdown or a lack of
affordable housing. Homelessness is often compounded by mental
health issues, drug or alcohol abuse, domestic violence through
to gambling addiction.
People who are homeless can become disconnected from society and
their local community. Homeless individuals are often visible in
our community conducting their daily lives in public spaces.
